A Message from
NWSCA’s President
Danny Woods
NWSCA would like to extend their congratulations to the several new
Security Coordinators who have recently joined our group. This is one of the
most exciting jobs that you will ever volunteer for and also one of the
hardest. The majority of our Security Coordinators have been involved for
several years and with each year they become more experienced in getting the
very best for their residents. Don’t hesitate to call upon them if you are
new to your job.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to extend our most
heartfelt thanks for the great job the previous board has done. Cindy Angelo,
Olde Oaks, served as President for the past two years and has brought many new
concepts to NWSCA, such as outside speakers at our meetings. Also, a special
thanks to Dora Young, Northwest Park, for her leadership although Dora did not
serve on our board she has been a strong advocate for our group. Many people
work behind the scene to help keep NWSCA a strong voice striving for the very
best for each of our residents.
We encourage your involvement in NWSCA. Together we can help the Harris
County Sheriff’s Department fight crime in our subdivisions by providing
consistent information on how to fight crime along with pertinent knowledge of
what active criminal activity is taking place in and around our area. This
type of information is vital to your resident’s safety.
There are two web sites available to help. First, Harris County
Sheriff’s Department website (www.co.harris.tx.us/so/dist1).
This site contains recent public news releases as well as an understanding of
the many different facets of the Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Thomas is a
very strong advocate of proactive policing. NWSCA also has a website that has
crime prevention tips, past newsletters, and other pertinent information
designated for your newsletter or for your residents who wish to go to
directly (http://www.nwsca.net).
Edie Goodwin, Woodedge Village, is going to help bring this site up-to-date
with current information for you to pass along to your residents.
Please join me as we go into the year 2001 and let us hear from you on
any programs, comments or speakers that may help you do your job. We are
totally dedicated to helping you as you in turn help your residents be the
best crime fighters they can.
