Did You Know?
Did you know, Governor George Bush has proclaimed April 12 - 18th as
Public Safety Telecommunication’s Week in Texas? The week is dedicated
to the telecommunicators who serve Texans every day by answering the calls
for emergency help.
As you go through your own busy life, take a few minutes to give thanks
for a group of unsung heroes that answer 9-1-1 or 713-221-6000 twenty-four
hours a day, seven days a week. On behalf of the Northwest Security
Coordinators’ Association, we send our most heartfelt thanks to this wonderfully,
dedicated group.
Their friendly, helpful voice in times of crisis have helped many
people through bad times. These are the faceless voices, that show
compassion for the loved one that is not breathing while waiting for the
ambulance, these are the voices that tell you to hold-on the police are
outside your home right now or to gather your children and wait outside
for the fire department. Their instructions when an emergency happens
make the difference between life and death in many situations.
Isn’t it great to know these highly trained people are on the job?
No one wants an emergency event to take place but sooner or later something
may happen - when it does rest assured the Sheriff’s Department has a training
program designed to help you through the crisis. |
